The sixth way we are generating
great leads for our business is through local classified ads. This is another
low cost MLM marketing strategy. We literally use less than 20 words to get the
attention, curiosity and call to action of our target market.
All areas and papers will differ,
but we get our ads in the local papers for 3 days a week, every week for just
$80 per month.
Here are some important tips for you
to make sure this works best for your business. As a MLM marketing strategy you
want to keep the costs down, especially early on in your business. We have used
half page ads before with great success (tip – write this as if it was news not
an advertisement) but the problem is it will cost around $2,000 or more
depending on where you live for this kind of ad. So small classifies work well.
Pick an area or newspaper that is
not saturated. By this I mean there are not 20 different papers that the locals
can choose from each day that are all 500 pages thick. Your little classified
ad will get lost like a needle in a haystack and your MLM marketing will have
very little chance of success. For example where I live we have about 4 or 5
different newspapers that you can buy each day and they are all as thick as a
novel. Yet just down the road in the next State there is only one newspaper and
it is relatively small. Our leads from this paper are the best out of anywhere
despite the smaller population which also comes into consideration.
Another very important consideration
is to get in front of your target market. We have found newspapers that have a
certain day of the week that has a large and deliberate business section,
including businesses for sale, Self employed opportunities and commission
only classifieds amongst the business articles. People interested in business
in general get the paper on this day. They also read the business section and a
vast majority of them look through the classifieds.
I know I did this every Tuesday for
a year when I was looking for an opportunity. I couldnt wait until Tuesday
came around. You will get the right prospects looking and enquiring if your ad
is in on this day in this section of the paper. With the right words and
headlines you will have MLM marketing success with this.
