using different techniques and activities. Marketing on the other hand, focuses
on the overall picture of the company. It is not only focused on the product,
but the provider as well. Marketing techniques convince the customers that
their needs and requirements will be fulfilled by the product or company.
Sales has a very simple process. When you are doing a sales job in Pakistan, you will be involved directly with the consumer or customer.
On the other hand, marketing has different processes which are used in one
campaign. It includes market analysis, competition, distributing channels,
pricing strategies, advertising strategies etc. and many others. All these
processes are combined to form a marketing strategy of a company or product.
Marketing is focused on long term results. Many companies
make their marketing strategies based on analysis of several decades and try to
focus their campaigns for the future. Sales on the other hand is a bit more
desperate attempt to sell the products or pursue the consumers to buy that said
Marketing has a wider effect than sales. Marketing
strategies and campaigns effect the whole corporation and if done right, it
will not only be able to sell the said product to the consumers but will also help
the producer in improving and recognizing its brand image. The purpose of
marketing is to fulfill the needs of consumers and it can also help improve the
products according to the market demand. This means marketing can help improve
products and services.
Sales is never the sole purpose of marketing. Marketers can
be called a link between the sales and product development. Marketing does not
depend on good sales directly, but sales directly depends on marketing. Both of
these careers are very important for any corporation. To choose a career
between these two fields might be hard, you should check your qualities and
abilities and then chose the one career that you truly think is for you.
