House cleaning is an essential task to everyday life. However, it is not
always easy. Sometimes, we spill things that we cannot clean up
properly. There are a few things that you can do to help clean up and
remedy common problems without even having to go to the store. You can
use things that you already have laying around the house to clean up
even the most difficult of messes.
Candle Wax Many of us have had this problem before. You knock over a
burning candle and you get wax all over the walls, carpets or floors.
Your first instinct might be to try and scrape it up, but that will take
a long time and not be very effective. In order to really clean this,
you will need a towel and an iron. Place the towel over the dried,
hardened wax and iron on top of the towel. Once you pick up the towel,
the wax will be on the other side.
Ring around the toilet Sprinkle some baking soda into the toilet bowl.
Let is sit for a few minutes and then flush the toilet gone. It was
that easy, no scrubbing, no chemicals.
Dusting Mini Blinds Mini Blinds are so tedious to clean, getting into
every little crevice can be quite difficult. Clean your mini blinds with
a dampened dry softener sheet. This will not only get rid of current
dust, but also keep dust from sticking to the blinds in the future.
Removing pet hair Use a lint roller or tape wrapped around your hand.
If the upholstery can get a little bit wet, a damp sponge rubbed along
the surface can make this task very easy. In addition, for removing hair
from carpet, a rubber brush can do wonders for your house cleaning.
Cleaning mirrors and windows Use a vinegar/water mixture placed in a
spray bottle. Spray the mixture onto the window. You will want to wipe
down the surface with newspaper or tissue paper in order to decrease
lint and streaking.
Soap Scum in showers The best way to remove soap scum in the shower is
using a degreasing agent that you will also use to clean the dishes. A
degreasing soap works really well in the shower. Mix it with some water,
spread it on the affected area with a sponge, let sit and wipe away
Removing marker stains from upholstery When you are house cleaning,
magic marker stains can be very pesky. People often think that they
cannot be removed. However. This is not the case. They can be removed by
using some hairspray. Spray it on the stain and blot out the spot.
As you can see, there are many things in our home that we often do not
think of as cleaning supplies. However, using some everyday products to
clean is both helpful and effective.
